Daily Flow Report
Understanding Daily Flow
The Daily Flow Report records how water moves through the upper watershed of the Santa Ana River each day. Prepared by the San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation District, the report supports the Cooperative Water Project—also called the Exchange Plan System—which includes multiple agencies that coordinate surface water operations.
The report tracks flows through flumes, canals, tailraces, and other measurement points in the San Bernardino Mountains and Wash areas. These readings help operators manage deliveries, guide recharge, and maintain consistent water accounting across the basin. The Daily Flow Report turns field measurements into shared knowledge, giving water managers a clear view of how the system functions in real time.

A Record that Informs the Region
Each report documents the volume and direction of water as it moves through key delivery points. The data are essential for efficient operations and long-term analysis. They inform the annual Engineering Investigation of the Bunker Hill Basin and contribute to the Big Bear Watermaster’s documentation of inflows and outflows in the watershed.
By compiling this information daily, the District ensures a continuous record of how water behaves under changing conditions. These records help identify patterns in recharge, runoff, and storage that influence planning, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship throughout the Valley.

Collaboration and Public Access
The Daily Flow Report is distributed each morning to water managers across the basin. This process reflects the District’s commitment to transparency and regional cooperation. Sharing the same data allows agencies to coordinate decisions that affect water quality, supply, and recharge efficiency.
Current and archived reports are available through the District’s website.
